Clear Satin Coverage That Preserves Clay Character
Satin Clear C6 Pro Series Stoneware Glaze creates a transparent, lower-sheen surface while allowing the colour, speckling and gentle texture of the clay beneath to remain visible. The supplied samples show a softly finished result on pale clay and a characterful surface on speckled stoneware, making it useful where the clay body should remain part of the final design.
Choose Satin Clear when you want less reflection than a conventional clear gloss without covering the underlying ceramic surface with an opaque colour. Clay body, application thickness, layering and kiln conditions can influence the fired appearance, so compare labelled tests on the intended porcelain or stoneware body before applying a new method or combination across important work.
- Compare pale and speckled clay bodies to assess the visible clay response.
- Record application thickness and glaze order on layered test tiles.
- Retain a fired reference sample for comparisons between kiln loads.
