Duncan Concepts Underglazes for Bisque

Duncan Concepts underglaze colours are designed primarily for decorating bisque, giving pottery painters, studios and ceramic artists a versatile fired colour range for bright designs, overall coverage and detailed decoration. These frit-based ceramic colours develop a glossy sheen when fired and are non-toxic.

Use one coat for soft translucent effects, build to three coats for a stronger solid colour, or use Concepts for washes and watercolour-style techniques. They are food safe when three solid coats are applied, or when paired with a food-safe clear glaze and fired correctly.

Concepts should be completely dry before clear glazing. The colour numbering system is also useful when decorating: colours ending in 1 are light in tone, colours ending in 2 are bright in tone, and colours ending in 3 are dark in tone.
