Warm Ochre Yellow with Fine Black Specks and Soft Pastel Effects
Create warm earthy yellow stoneware with BOTZ Ochre Granite Stoneware Glaze. This light ochre-yellow glaze contains fine black specks and develops a softly varied surface, moving towards a lighter pastel-like colour at the upper end of its firing range.
Apply 2–3 coats, with BOTZ recommending 3 coats for the preferred result. Fire between 1220°C and 1280°C with a 30-minute soak, with the glaze described as most attractive from 1250°C upwards. At 1220°C it produces a silk-matt ochre yellow with fine black specks; at 1250°C a lighter silk-matt ochre yellow with fine black specks; and at 1280°C a matt, pastel-like ochre yellow with fine black specks. BOTZ describes the finish as silk-matt or matt in its application notes, while the product properties classify it as satin-glossy.
