Soft Cream with White and Bright Blue Crystalline Effects
Create delicate, shifting colour on stoneware with BOTZ Ice Crystal Stoneware Glaze. This cream-coloured glaze develops fine lighter effects and, from 1250°C upwards, distinctive white and bright blue precipitations that give the fired surface a cool, softly varied appearance.
Apply 2–3 coats, with BOTZ recommending 2 coats for the preferred result. Fire between 1220°C and 1280°C with a 30-minute soak, with the glaze described as most attractive from 1250°C upwards. At 1220°C it produces a slightly yellowish cream-coloured silk-matt surface with very fine effects; at 1250°C it develops white and light-blue precipitations; and at 1280°C larger bright blue areas appear across the cream-coloured glaze, creating a more vivid play of colour and gloss. BOTZ describes the finish as silk-matt in its application notes, while the product properties classify it as satin-glossy.
