Glossy Medium Blue for Form and Decorative Detail
French Blue BOTZ Earthenware Glaze gives an opaque, glossy medium blue. The colour works naturally across broad plates and simple rounded forms, where the reflective surface follows curves and edges, and it can also be used within recessed patterns to bring selected decorative details forward. This makes it a useful colour for form-led pieces and simple graphic decoration.
French Blue also gives good results on coloured clay, giving makers more freedom to combine glazed and exposed clay within the same piece. Its very good melting behaviour and low tendency to run make it a practical choice for defined glazed areas where keeping the decoration controlled is important.
