For best results, choose 100% cotton, rayon or silk, cover your work surface with disposable plastic, and use a washable marker to sketch out heart, bullseye, mandala or stripe patterns before you start tying.
Keep your project raised on a wire rack so excess dye can drip away, then seal it in a plastic bag or wrap to stay damp while the colour sets.
